Meet the Assistant Principal
Talisha Anthony
Hello Riverchase Family!
My name is Talisha Anthony, and I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal of Riverchase Elementary! Our school is filled with some of the most dedicated leaders who work passionately to ensure our future leaders have access to high-quality and equitable education. Our diverse community is vibrant and supportive, and I am excited to be a part of it.
I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, and made my way to North Carolina right after high school. I enrolled at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. A year after graduating, I pursued further education at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, earning my Master’s in Religion. My journey in education began after years of working in ministry and public libraries, which led me to pursue my teaching certification through Region 11.
As I enter my seventh year in education and my first as an administrator, I bring with me a wealth of experience. I taught 3rd-grade math and science for two years in Denton ISD, followed by 3rd-grade ELAR for a year in CFBISD (Sheffield), and spent three years teaching 1st and 3rd-grade at a charter school in Denton. My passion for leading and serving students prompted me to return to Region 11 to earn my principal certification.
On a personal note, my husband Joseph and I have two wonderful sons: Zachary, who is entering 2nd grade, and Nathan, who will be four in November. Our family enjoys watching game shows, vacationing, trying new foods, attending church, and spending quality time together.
One of my main goals this year is to continue fostering a positive and inviting school culture. With the support of our parents, students and the wider community, I am confident that we can achieve this goal together. Let's make this a great year!
